Evelyn "Champagne" King

Evelyn King was discovered in a way that sounds like a movie script. She was an office cleaner at Philadelphia International Records and was overheard singing in the washroom by a producer. In 1977, she released her first album, which spawned one of her biggest singles, "Shame." King also topped the charts with her 1982 hit "Love Come Down." Still touring and in the studio, King released an album in 2008.
