Offset Shot in Florida Casino Incident, Spokesperson Says He Is Stable

The Migos rapper was hospitalized after the shooting outside the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, where police say two people were detained.

Rapper Offset is recovering after being shot in Hollywood, Florida, according to a spokesperson for the rapper.

According to reports, Offset is stable, being treated at a hospital, and closely monitored. Police said the shooting happened Monday evening in a valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, and that one person sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. Officers also said two people were detained as investigators worked the scene, while making clear that the site was secure and there was no threat to the public.

The force said the "investigation is ongoing.”

The incident adds another painful moment to Offset’s personal history. His cousin Takeoff, also of Migos, was shot and killed in 2022.

Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, rose to fame as one-third of Migos, the Atlanta rap trio known for hits like “Versace” and for helping define a generation of hip-hop with its rapid-fire flow. As news of the shooting spread, fans and peers began watching closely for updates on his condition and hoping for a full recovery.

Offset secretly married fellow rap superstar Cardi B in September 2017, and Cardi B filed for divorce in 2024. The two share three children together.

That’s a developing story, and BET will keep an eye on any new details as authorities continue their investigation.
