Obama Gets Applauded for Heartfelt Message to McCain Following Brain Cancer Diagnosis While Trump Receives Criticism
Politicians from all parties have demonstrated an outpouring of love and respect for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who announced in a statement Wednesday that he was diagnosed with brain cancer.
“On Friday, July 14, Sen. John McCain underwent a procedure to remove a blood clot from above his left eye at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. Subsequent tissue pathology revealed that a primary brain tumor known as a glioblastoma was associated with the blood clot.
“Scanning done since the procedure (a minimally invasive craniotomy with an eyebrow incision) shows that the tissue of concern was completely resected by imaging criteria.
“The Senator and his family are reviewing further treatment options with his Mayo Clinic care team. Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.
“The Senator’s doctors say he is recovering from his surgery ‘amazingly well’ and his underlying health is excellent," read the statement on McCain's website.
The former and current president, along with many others, tweeted messages of support for the Arizona senator. However, Barack Obama and Donald Trump received different reactions to their tweets.
Obama sent a message to his 2008 presidential opponent wherein he called him an 'American Hero'
Later in the day, President Trump sent a message from him and his wife, Melania

Although Trump's message was compassionate, many cannot forget about the time he dissed McCain for being a Prisoner of War
Some were disgusted by other republicans who posted offensive tweets celebrating the senator's diagnosis
Although there was some criticism surrounding the messages, Sen. John McCain still sent out a message of gratitude to everyone who sent their thoughts and prayers
