Surveillance Footage Shows 9-Year-Old Black Boy Did NOT Grope 'Cornerstore Caroline'
A white woman, virally dubbed #CornerstoreCaroine, is now facing major backlash after surveillance footage found that she wasn’t groped by a 9-year-old black boy she accused of doing such.
Officially identified as Teresa Klein, Cornerstore Caroline originally yelled and screamed at the boy and his mother in video uploaded to social media. On Wednesday (October 10), Klein claimed she was “sexually assaulted by a child” in a call to 911 dispatchers.
Footage taken by the corner store though shows that the boy only brushed her with his backpack as he and his family walked by, which is what he and his mother originally claimed.
Klein is now apologizing after a New York Post reporter approached her outside of her apartment. “I would like to apologize to her daughter and her son but not to her. She could have walked away, but she didn’t. I’m also a Buddhist, [but] I let my temper show,” she said before revealing that she’s been “called racist before.”
Jason Stovetop Littlejohn was the original poster of the video that went viral. “As I walked up I noticed the argument, apparently the kid brushed up against her and she said he touched her and decided to call police on a nine-year-old child. As you can see the kid is crying and the mom is upset,” he wrote on Facebook.
