Officer Caesar Goodson Jr. has been acquitted on all charges relating to the death of Baltimore's Freddie Gray. The 46 year-old has been cleared by Circuit Judge Barry Williams on all counts, including second-degree depraved heart murder, manslaughter and second-degree assault.

Goodson, the van driver, was accused of giving Gray a “rough ride” that ultimately led to his death.

Of all of the officers, Goodson faced the most charges and still received no punishment for the death of Gray.

Some fear this decision foreshadows unfavorable verdicts to come for the remaining officers who each face less severe charges than Goodson's. 

Although the prosecution claimed Goodson had many opportunities to aid the very injured Gray at the beginning of the ride, the defense argued the timeline of events suggests Gray sustained most of his injuries towards the end of the ride, giving Goodson little time to seek help.

The rest of the officers are set to appear in court later this summer.
