Abby De La Rosa Discusses Her Motherhood Journey And 'Open' Relationship With Nick Cannon

“Being in a polyamorous relationship doesn’t mean you have low self-esteem or self-worth."

Abby De La Rosa is opening up about her relationship status with Nick Cannon, who is the father of her one-year-old twins, Zion and Zillion.

On Tuesday’s episode of the Lovers and Friends podcast with Shan Boodram, the DJ opened up about her polyamorous lifestyle.

“Being in a polyamorous relationship doesn’t mean you have low self-esteem or self-worth,” De La Rosa said during the recent episode of the podcast. “I become hypersensitive when people attack me and my motherhood.”

She continued, “Me being open in my relationship does not change or take away from the type of mother that I am to my kids and the wholeness that I am to them and the strength that I share with them.”

FYI: In June, De La Rosa announced she is pregnant with her third child on Instagram. Later that month, Nick seemingly confirmed he assisted with conceiving the child, saying the “stork is on the way,” during an interview on Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast.

During her chat with Boodram, De La Rosa said she’s chosen to be monogamous during this pregnancy. She went on to explain Cannon has been her "primary partner" since the planned birth of their twins.

While they choose not to use labels, and that she likes to say they are “family.”

The proud mom said she may consider a monogamous relationship in the future, but that’s not her focus right now. “I think I see monogamy for myself down the line, and this won’t get me there. But I love where I’m at, at this very moment. It’s just not my forever,” she expressed.
