Joy Taylor's Wild Take: Men Getting Pregnant Would Fix Healthcare Overnight

Pushing back against traditional narratives, the TV host argued that political battles over bodily autonomy would vanish overnight if roles were reversed.

Joy Taylor is not holding back when it comes to the real conversations around motherhood and reproductive rights.

During a recent episode of her "Two Personal" show, the media personality and sports commentator got candid about the immense physical and social pressures women face when it comes to having children. She openly challenged the narrative that women are just supposed to naturally embrace pregnancy and that it is some sort of easy task everyone owes to society.

While Taylor noted that she is not a mother and has never been pregnant herself, she made it clear that you only need to look around to see how difficult the journey actually is. Having spent plenty of time around children, she explained that watching others go through the experience has given her a deep respect for the struggles they face.

The conversation took a sharp turn into how healthcare and politics treat women's bodies. Taylor suggested that if men were the ones who had to deal with the realities of carrying a child, the entire medical field would have evolved a long time ago.

In fact, she said that if she had one wish, it would be for both men and women to be able to get pregnant, because it would completely erase the current political battles surrounding reproductive freedom.

Taylor argued that if men could get pregnant, people would be able to get an abortion at a drive-thru. She also mentioned that medical research would have advanced to the point where someone could give birth without feeling any pain and fully recover in just three days.

Ultimately, Taylor emphasized that the safety, comfort, and recovery process of childbirth would be light-years ahead of where it is today if men shared the burden, and she called for much more honest discussions about what mothers actually go through.
