Nick Cannon Opens Up About His 'Fairytale' Relationship With His Ex-Wife Mariah Carey
Nick Cannon is opening up about his 'fairytale' relationship with his ex-wife Mariah Carey. The multi-hyphenate star recently shared his feelings about the "We Belong Together" singer on the podcast, The Hot Tee Talk Show.
"I will never have a love like I had with Mariah," Cannon shared when asked by talk show host Tee if he would ever consider rekindling his relationship with the singer.
"It was literally like a fairytale with Mariah," he revealed.
When asked if he would ever consider reigniting their romance, Cannon explained that although he appreciates that "fantasy" he wouldn't want to mess up the fond memories they once shared. "If I tried to go back and it wasn't the same, I'd be like, 'Damn, I messed it up.' But, if I had the opportunity—if it could be the way that it was—I'm there," he explained.
FYI: In April 2008, the couple tied the knot with a lovely private wedding ceremony in the Bahamas. In 2016, the couple divorced after several years of marriage. Since then, the pair have successfully co-parented their 11-year-old twins, daughter Monroe and son Moroccan, who was born on the couple's third wedding anniversary.
Cannon and Carey have since gone their separate ways in their love lives. During the interview, Cannon acknowledged Carey’s six-year relationship with boyfriend Bryan Tanaka.
"I truly respect the relationship that she's been in for quite some time. The dude is amazing with my kids and we got family gatherings and things together, so I truly respect it," he said. "But come on, that's my fantasy love. That's somebody that I will always love."
