O'Shea '"Ice Cube" Jackson stars as Nick Persons, a bachelor who offers to drive the children of Suzanne Kingston (a divorcée played by Nia Long) to the city of Vancouver for the New Year's Eve holiday after work prevents Suzanne from returning to Portland, Oregon.

As Nick and the two children — Lindsey Kingston (played by Aleisha Allen) and Kevin Kingston (played by Philip Daniel Bolden) — embark on their excursion, things go awry. The three eventually have to band together in order to survive the expedition.
