Details Behind Korryn Gaines' Allegedly Abusive Boyfriend Creating GoFundMe Page Using Her Name

He’s being slammed for using the tragedy for personal gain.

Korryn Gaines' boyfriend is being ripped apart both on social media and in the comments section of a GoFundMe page he created using his now deceased girlfriend's name.

Kareem K. Courtney, 39, is apparently unemployed and lived with Korryn and fathered their 1-year-old child. Korryn's 5-year-old is reportedly not his biological child.

According to reports, police were called to their apartment on June 28, 2016, at around 10:00 am after the couple got into an argument, resulting in him throwing a chair at her and slapping her. He reportedly fled the scene after she called the police about the attack, which occurred in front of her children.

In the GoFundMe page set up by Kareem titled "Korryn's Home Going Service," the goal is set at $10,000, with $955 being donated within the last three days.

Korryn's official GoFundMe page is titled "The Official Korryn Gaines Fund" and is set at a $20,000 goal, with upwards from $12,000 being raised thus far. It was set up by Korryn's family, particularly her cousin Creo Brady.

Disgusted by Kareem's decision to create a page in Korryn's name, disgruntled supporters of Korryn's took to the comments section to express how they felt.

"Donate to Korryn's official go fund me. This isn't it. I'm reporting this as fraud," one commenter wrote, while another added, "You beat her, you ran out with 'your' child and left her, now you trying to PROFIT off her death??! #SCANDALOUS."

If donating, please donate to the official page created by Korryn's family.
