Kevin Cossom, known for penning Keri Hilson's "Knock You Down" featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo, is ready to make the transition from writing hits for your favorite artists to being your favorite artist.

The first artist signed to Grammy award-winning producer Danja’s "New Age Rocks Stars" (N.A.R.S)/JIVE imprint, he is well on his way. Cossom got his first break in 2004, being featured on Lloyd Banks’ "Karma." Then he followed that up with his first songwriting credit when he penned R. Kelly's hook on Young Jeezy’s "Go Getta." He has also been featured on albums from Beanie Sigel, Rick Ross, Chamillionaire, Trey Songz and Fabolous.

When asked if he had to choose between songwriting and being an artist, he explained, "It's not really a choice, I think they go hand in hand...I think most songwriters are artists and want to do that. Whether they get the opportunity or not is a different story...so I can't really choose."

Having already graced the world with two mixtapes, in this BET.com exclusive interview he talks about two more that will be released soon, his inspiration, his sound, what deceased artist he would bring back from the dead to collab with, how the word "swag" will never die and the qualities he looks for when pursuing a special lady. Check it out.
