Lil Yachty’s Response To People Criticizing Him For Wearing A Dress Deserves A Round Of Applause

“Y’all n***a’s so in denial with y’all masculinity…”

Earlier this week, Quality Control rap neophyte Lil Yachty dropped a music video for his latest single, “Oprah’s Bank Account,” featuring Drake and DaBaby.

  • Depicted on a fictionalized talk show stylized after media mogul Oprah Winfrey’s eponymous show, Yatchy puts on his best impression of the revered talk show host as “Boprah” in the hilarious nine-minute visual.

Some were highly amused at the music video’s visuals and had a lot to say about the 22-year-old’s wig and dress ensemble. They quickly chimed in with their thoughts across social media. Others, however, asserted that Yachty crossdressed to help boost his record sales, which charged several homophobic takes from some viewers who refuse to watch the music video in its entirety.

“Seeing Lil Yachty dressed as Oprah is a lot,” one fan expressed on Twitter.

“That Lil Yachty Oprah video made me uncomfortable for some reason,” a second added.

“I still haven't watched the video ‘cause of [that] I just downloaded the song,” a third said.

  • However, Lil Boat is unbothered by their opinions. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday (Mar. 11), he issued a scathing response to toxic and homophobic discourse appearing in his mentions.

“You don’t need to wear no dresses or wigs to sell created a lane ... how I’m supposed to take this,” one fan posed directly to Yachty.

“B***h it’s just supposed to be entertaining... it ain’t even that deep,” he responded back. “Y’all n***a’s so in denial with y’all masculinity [that] s**t like this bother y’all...relax.”

When a white Twitter user commented on Yachty’s sexuality with claims that he let the Black community down, Yachty used a meme of Houston Rocket point guard Russell Westbrook to aptly convey his response.
