SZA, Drake, and More Take Home Top Honors at 2023 'Billboard Music Awards'
The 2023 “Billboard Music Awards” took place Sunday night (Nov 19), honoring the most prominent names and records of the year, but here’s all the essential Black news you need to know.
SZA and country Morgan Wallen tied for second-most nods, earning 17 each. The TDE signee took home three wins, including “Top R&B Artist” and “Top R&B Album.” The Weeknd garnered 16 nods, winning one for “Top R&B Male Artist.” Fellow Canada native and rap star Drake appeared in 14 categories, winning four, including “Top Rap Artist,“ “Top Rap Album,” and “Top Rap Touring Artist.“
This year's show also added nine new categories, including awards for best songwriter and producer on the Hot 100 chart, best rock duo/group, top K-pop artist and tour, outstanding K-pop album and song worldwide, as well as recognition for the best Afrobeats artist and song.
