Issa Rae Dragged Kanye West Right In Front Of Kim Kardashian, And Twitter Is Screaming

The "Insecure" star didn't hold back.

Issa Rae's unapologetic nature is what, honestly, made her a national treasure and a favorite among the Black community.

She showed, once again, just why she is deserving of this title during her hosting gig at the 2018 Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards (CFDA) in Brooklyn on Monday night. During her monologue, the Insecure star took shots at polarizing rapper Kanye West while his wife and honoree Kim Kardashian sat before her.

According to Vulture, the actress took sharp aim at the rapper, who disturbed many with his repeated support for president Donald Trump and ridiculously stated that, in his opinion, "slavery was a choice."

Using that latter comment as inspiration, Rae said before the audience, "I'm about as fashionable as Kanye is Black — only when it's convenient."

She wasn't done there. After making that bold comment, she added, "That joke was my choice, just like slavery."

While Kanye was not present to revel in the moment, his wife, Kim, who was on hand to receive the inaugural Influencer Award, was front and center.

Needless to say, Twitter was completely here for Issa Rae's constructive comic relief, especially in what many may consider the most opportune setting. See how they reacted, below:
