Druski Plays ‘Preston,’ the White Friend With a Hood Pass, in New Viral Skit
Druski’s latest viral skit hilariously channels a familiar archetype: The white boy who’s accepted by the hood.
Over the weekend, the comedian posted a new skit on Instagram, captioned “White boy accepted by the Hood,” in which he completely commits to the role.
Decked out in white face—complete with lightened skin, a straightened wig, and brown beard—Druski introduces fans to Preston, a suburban kid who swears he’s native to the block.
“See, I grew up with my grandma,” Preston explains in the clip. “Folks always tell me, ‘You white. You a white boy. You can’t be doing all that.’ I grew up on that side but I was raised by these folks.” He later doubles down, saying, “I grew up with white folks, but I was raised in the dope home.”
In classic Druski fashion, the skit is filled with over-the-top yet all-too-familiar moments: from Preston getting spooked by the cops while smoking with friends, to rapping but intentionally skipping over the n-word. “I ain’t said it though,” he points out proudly.
Preston’s dual identity hits a hilarious peak when he pulls up to his actual home, still in character. “What the hell y’all cook for dinner?” he asks, only to be met with a fed-up, “Stop talking like that!” from his mom, and “You were raised better than that!” from his dad.
The sketch is the latest entry in Druski’s growing library of culture-satire clips, following his April parody of YouTube actors behind the scenes. But fans say this one hits a little different, mainly because “Preston” feels like someone many have actually met.
“Yall laugh but we really had a token white boy we called “dirt” who we treated like family,” wrote one X user. “Married a black woman and everything. Whole time his family rich as hell living in the foothills lol.”
With his signature mix of satire and truth-telling, Druski reminds us why he stays at the top of the internet comedy game.
