Travis Hunter’s Fiancée Leanna Lenee Breaks Silence on Viral Fan Interaction
Travis Hunter’s fiancée, Leanna Lenee, is shutting down the internet’s misconceptions surrounding a recent viral moment where she appeared upset while he interacted with fans.
The discourse began after a clip surfaced online from The Colorado Buffaloes star’s meet-and-greet at an Adidas pop-up event in New York City on December 14, ahead of the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Social media users speculated that Lenee was annoyed as the 21-year-old cornerback star posed for photos.
Lenee took to TikTok to set the record straight.
“People are saying that I’m like, ‘What am I supposed to do? Just sit here?’” Lenee explained in her video. “I said, ‘Do you want me to sit here? Or do you want me to go with the family? Or do you want me to come with you?’” Clarifying further, she added, “What y’all don’t know off of a seven-second clip, is those weren’t fans… he had already finished that part.”
Lenee emphasized that she had been actively involved throughout the event. “I wasn’t annoyed with no fans at all. I’m never annoyed with fans,” she said, shutting down the narrative.
The online backlash follows previous accusations against Lenee, including claims that she was upset over Hunter’s interactions with cheerleaders during a football game. Frustrated by the ongoing scrutiny, she said, “The things that I see people make up is truly crazy… trying to make it something it’s not.”
The star athlete came to her defense in a Twitch video, revealing the toll the negativity has taken on her. “Y’all hate on me and then y’all go hate on my girl… We’re inseparable. If she hurting, of course I’m going to be hurting.”
Hunter recently made history after becoming the first two-way player to win the Heisman Trophy in nearly 30 years, according to Sports Illustrated.
