Atlanta rapper Archie Evans was found dead this week after DeKalb County Police announced that they would be pressing charges on his brother was allegedly responsible for the murder. He was 37-years-old at the time of his death.
Police say that Evans, whose real name is Arthur Eversole, was shot at the Golf Vista Circle before being taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. His brother, Alexander Kraus, had his charges upgraded to murder from aggravated assault once Evans died from his injuries.
"Archie was a great friend, business partner, and a positive light for many. Personally, he was a brother to me," says close friend and business partner Micheal Smith said in a statement to USA TODAY. "Archie was a very spiritual person that always put GOD first."
The rapper was best known for his 2002 single, “We Ready,” which became a popular sports anthem for the Atlanta United soccer club and their fanbase.
