Early Kevin Hart Sitcom Coming to DVD

The TV show only lasted six episodes a decade ago.

Long before Kevin Hart became a household name, he starred in a short-lived sitcom called The Big House. Now, it is being released on DVD in January.

Based on a reverse of the premise from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Big House focused on a wealthy spoiled kid named Kevin Hart — yes, that was his name in the show — whose life changed after his father was arrested and imprisoned for embezzlement. Hart's character was forced to move in with his working class relatives in Philadelphia, where the show was set.

According to Shadow and Act, though the sitcom only lasted six episodes in 2004, Olive Films is still pushing forward with its DVD release, which is set for January 13, 2014, just before the release of the comedian's upcoming film, The Wedding Ringer, set to open on January 16.

Watch Kevin Hart in a new episode of Real Husbands of Hollywood every Tuesday, 10P/9C.
