Kodak Black Compared Atlanta Rappers and Florida Rappers With This Meme
Fresh off the heels of the release of Project Baby 2, Kodak Black is airing out his grievances with his fellow cohort of Florida artists.
As one not to shy away from controversy, the "Tunnel Vision" rapper took to Instagram on Friday (Sept. 1) to shed light on the divide among southern emcees ― namely the striking contrast between the support Atlanta lyricists show each other as oppose to Floridian ones. "Duhh We All Green," Kodak captioned an illustration of stick figures helping each other up a flight of steps.
While forgoing the mentioning of names, it can easily be assumed that Kodak was calling out the likes of XXXTENTACION, Wifisfuneral and Lil Pump, who originate from the Sunshine State and have risen to prominence over the past year. In the past, Kodak has shared his disdain for fellow breakout stars Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Yachty, claiming that they are "confusing the community." In spite of being routinely grouped with the latter as spearheading "mumble rap," Kodak seems to be trying to separate himself from the pack by ironically working with mostly Atlanta artists.
For his debut studio album, Painting Pictures, the project featured guest spots from ATL's own Future and Young Thug. So, it's interesting to see the rising emcee speak on the alleged crabs in a barrel mentality of his fellow Floridian rappers.
