‘B.A.P.S.’ Star Natalie Desselle-Reid Dies At 53

The actress had several memorable roles in popular films and TV series.

Actress Natalie Desselle-Reid, who starred alongside Halle Berry in the cult classic B.A.P.S. has died at age 53. Her manager Dolores Robinson and her social media account confirmed on Monday (Dec. 7).

“It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Natalie this morning. She was a bright light in this world,” said a post on her Instagram account read. “A queen. An extraordinary mother and wife. Her diverse career touched so many and she will be loved forever.”

Actress Holly Robinson-Peete also made the announcement on Twitter upon finding out about her friend’s passing.

Desselle-Reid was beloved by fans for her performances in several popular dramas and comedies. Breakout performances included “Def Jam’s How to Be a Player,” a 1997 version of “Cinderella,” alongside singer Brandy. She also had supporting roles in Tyler Perry’s "Madea's Big Happy Family" and Eve’s popular 90s sitcom.

Natalie Desselle-Reid’s cause of death was not immediately known.
