Johnson Publishing Names New Editor-in-Chief of Ebony Magazine

Johnson Publishing has named Mitzi Miller as the new editor-in-chief of Ebony magazine.

Johnson Publishing has named Mitzi Miller as the new editor-in-chief of Ebony magazine, executives announced Tuesday. Miller will replace Amy DuBois Barnett, who is leaving to pursue other endeavors. 
Before taking this position, Miller had been editor of Jet magazine, Johnson Publishing's weekly publication targeting African-Americans, since 2011. 
“We’re delighted to be able to offer her this assignment after working very closely with her for the last few years,” said Desiree Rogers, CEO of Chicago-based Johnson Publishing Company, according to the Chicago Tribune
Ebony has been in circulation continuously since it was founded by John H. Johnson in November 1945. It has an average circulation of 1.29 million.
