Ms. Lauryn Hill Postpones Philadelphia Concert Date Citing Doctor Ordered Vocal Rest
Ms. Lauryn Hill is following the doctor’s orders and is taking a quick break.
On Sunday, (Oct 24,) the “Ex-Factor” singer, presently on tour to commemorate the 25th anniversary of her Grammy-winning debut studio album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” announced that she was postponing the Philadelphia stop of her concert series, citing vocal rest.
“It is with disappointment that I am writing this note to you. On the advice of my physicians, I have no choice but to postpone the show tomorrow,” the 48-year-old wrote in a memo posted to social media. “I need to rest my voice to prevent any more serious strain or damage to my vocal cords.”
The Fugees co-founder noted that she looked forward to giving fans “the show you deserve with a fully recovered and healthy voice” and that “the new date for Philadelphia will be Nov. 25.” She added, “It will be a special one.”
Ms. Hill wrapped up her post by telling waiting fans in Toronto, CA, “I’ll see you next. Resting for a few days then heading your way.”
