'Scary Movie 6' Is Back — And The Wayans Are Ready To Season Modern Horror

Marlon, Shawn, Keenen and Damon Wayans reunite with Regina Hall and Anna Faris to roast M3GAN, Scream, Terrifier and more — bringing the original flavor back to the franchise.

Lock your doors and hide your wigs — Scary Movie is back, and it’s coming to roast everybody.

After 26 years, the OG chaos crew — Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Damon Wayans — are officially returning for the sixth installment of the parody franchise that had us side-eyeing every dark hallway in America. And yes, the queens of screaming and surviving, Regina Hall and Anna Faris, are back too. Balance has been restored.

The first teaser trailer dropped in theaters ahead of Scream 7 on February 27, and if you missed it in theaters, don’t worry — Paramount blessed the internet on March 2. Because what’s a horror reboot without a parody reboot right behind it?

Back in 2000, the original Scary Movie didn’t just parody horror — it disrespected it lovingly. It dragged the genre with seasoning. It was messy, loud, inappropriate and very, very Black in its comedic timing. It made you laugh at the same movies that had you sleeping with the lights on. That’s a cultural service.

In a March 2025 interview, Marlon said the new installment is bringing back the “Wayans flavor” that fans felt was missing from the later sequels. And when he said they’re adding “Lowry’s and Frank’s RedHot,” that’s not just a metaphor — that’s a warning. The Wayans are about to season this franchise properly.

The teaser shows M3GAN-style dancing getting absolutely clowned, masked killers getting outsmarted in the dumbest ways possible, and that signature Wayans physical comedy that walks the line between ridiculous and genius. If they really lean into today’s internet culture — TikTok psychics, true crime podcasts, haunted Airbnbs — this could be the most chaotic entry yet.

And here’s the thing: parody only works when it understands the assignment. The Wayans built this house. They know the blueprint. They know the tone. They know that horror fans are in on the joke — and ready to laugh at themselves.

So yes, the franchise that taught us to question every phone call, every creaky door and every suspicious boyfriend is back. And this time, it’s roasting a whole new generation of fears.

Get ready to scream.

And then laugh at yourself for screaming.
