Wait, Did Suge Knight Just Admit That Tupac Is Still Alive?

"I mean, when I left that hospital, me and Pac was laughing and joking."

The mystifying case of legendary hip-hop idol Tupac’s murder is still cold 21 years later.

But the conspiracies, speculation, and now accusations surrounding his death are still among the hottest topics of the industry, and Pac’s mentor, close friend and Death Row Records' CEO Suge Knight has reignited the buzz yet again.

Phoning in from the L.A. County Jail, Suge spoke with Ice-T and Soledad O’ Brien on the fallen rap legend’s last days before his 1996 death. Suge has been confined for over two years at the penitentiary while awaiting a murder trial. Despite updates on his troubling legal and health status rolling out heavy over headlines in the past few months, he was able to connect with the hosts of the new Who Shot Biggie & Tupac television special.

“When Pac died, if he really did, you know?” Suge said to Ice-T and Soledad in a new video snippet from the series. After he poses the cryptic statement from the phone’s loud speaker, Soledad asks him to clarify.

“I mean, when I left that hospital, me and Pac were laughing and joking,” he explained. “So I don’t see how somebody can turn from doing well to doing bad.”

She then asks the burning question that’s been adamantly debated and theorized for years since Pac’s untimely death: Does he believe Tupac is still alive?

“I’m gonna tell you that with Pac, you never know.”

Ice-T seems to shrug it off before the clip ends. But seeing as the All Eyez On Me emcee’s closest living relatives and friends might be the only credible sources to make such a bold conjecture, hearing the rest of Suge’s explanation could be worth a listen.

Hit play on Suge’s mysterious commentary in the video below and tune into the first installment of the Who Shot Biggie & Tupac series when it airs September 24 on Fox.
