Tyrese Posts A Letter To His Daughter Amid Child Abuse Allegations

"A set back is merely a set UP for many, many amazing things to come."

Nearly a month after being accused of child abuseTyrese's legal woes are taking a serious turn as he is now under investigation by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.

In spite of the bizarre allegations at hand, the R&B crooner isn't staying silent.

Back in September, Tyrese's ex-wife Norma Mitchell Gibson filed a lawsuit claiming that, on August 19, the couple’s 10-year-old daughter was staying with the "Sweet Lady" singer when he allegedly began to rage and pushed his daughter to the ground, "pinned her face down, put his knees on her back, grabbed her hands with one arm and beat her with the other.”

According to Norma, the incident began when Tyrese accused the young girl of “stealing her own piggy bank money that she received for her birthday.” Now the singer's estranged spouse is attempting to be granted a permanent restraining order, which would prohibit the actor from physically disciplining their child. Norma is also seeking full physical and legal custody of the child.

During a recent court appearance, a request for protection was granted by a judge barring Tyrese from directly or indirectly contacting Norma or his daughter. According to TMZ, a lawyer for the Fast and Furious actor called Norma “a lying piece of s**t” and said Tyrese was “devastated” by the claims. “He’s a good guy and I will prove that,” said lawyer Terry Levich Ross.

On Wednesday (Oct. 3), Tyrese finally broke his silence regarding the allegations against him in a lengthy Instagram post. "One day we're going to sit down over tea and laugh about how they tried to turn us on each other," the singer captioned a photo of himself and his daughter. "Praying for you everyday angel," he continued. "I love you and I'm holding onto every laugh and every moment."
