Stefon Diggs' Accuser Pushes for Financial Records, Says the NFL Star 'Does Not Get to Sue and Hide'
The man who accused Stefon Diggs of sexual assault is fighting back in court — demanding the NFL wide receiver produce financial records to show what harm, if any, the allegations actually caused him.
According to TMZ, Christopher Blake Griffith and his legal team filed a motion to compel Diggs to produce evidence that Griffith's sexual assault allegations hurt him financially. Griffith claims Diggs has been stonewalling the discovery process. His attorney put it plainly: Diggs "does not get to sue and hide."
How We Got Here
Diggs sued Griffith for defamation in November after Griffith publicly claimed the former New England Patriots receiver drugged, sexually assaulted, and later conspired to kill him. Diggs's suit alleges Griffith knowingly and intentionally lied for online notoriety and in the process damaged his reputation. Griffith has maintained his account of events.
Diggs is already facing separate criminal proceedings in Massachusetts. As CBS News Boston has reported, he was arraigned in February on charges of felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery in connection with an alleged December 2 incident involving his personal chef, Mila Adams. He pleaded not guilty to those charges. That trial is scheduled for May 4 in Dedham District Court. Adams has denied she is seeking a settlement, saying she reported the incident through proper legal channels.
Diggs was released by the Patriots in February and remains unsigned. He maintains his innocence in all matters. His legal team has said the evidence will fully exonerate him.
