DJ Envy Has A Bold Threat For Nicki Minaj...

The Barbs are not taking kindly to this one.

The gang of social media adversaries that Nicki Minaj went toe to toe with on Twitter shook up the internet on Tuesday (August 14) and even brought a few heads of the Love & Hip Hop cast out of the woodwork with it.

Following Jessica Dime’s entry, aspiring rappers Dreamdoll and Mariah Lynn stepped up to the plate siding with DJ Self, whose war of words with the Queen femcee set off a Nicki vs. practically everybody social media fiasco. Self’s fellow Power 105.1 disc jockey and one-third of The Breakfast Club DJ Envy was just another bystander to the shenanigans. That is, until he picked up on what he deemed a possible threat from the head Barb that could warrant a radio blackballing against her.

  • In The Breakfast Club’s weekly Rumor Report, Charlamagne Tha God pointed out the suspicious wording...

Nicki’s tweet to Self that “[she] got some hungry n**gas wit [her]” and would be returning to pull up on him the next day, presumably, left a bad taste in Envy’s mouth. Him and Charlamagne agreed that threatening a DJ over not liking a record is a huge no-no.

“Nicki can have an opinion on Self, Self can have his opinion on Nicki,” Envy explained. “But when you start saying, ‘I got hungry N-words that’s going to come up there,’ nah…”

In usual instigative Charlamagne fashion, he asked whether all of the DJs would band together and blackball the Young Money rapper from the radio if, in fact, she was making the threat, to which Envy replied, “Absolutely.”

“You don’t threaten no DJ over his opinion,” he said. “Now, if Self said something foul and disrespectful—sure. But not over his opinion.” Envy said that he’ll have a conversation with Self to determine their next course of action. He doesn’t actually believe Nicki meant the words in “that way” though. But if she did, “you damn right, and every DJ on the station better stop playing [her music.]”

  • It goes without saying that the Barbs didn’t take kindly to the blackball threat…

And they took to Twitter to let him know it.
