Jamie Foxx Reportedly Holds Party at Chicago Rehab Center to Celebrate Recovery

The Academy Award winner has been increasingly more visible since his health emergency.

Jamie Foxx is making room for some fun as he continues to recover from an undisclosed medical emergency.

According to an unidentified source who spoke to PEOPLE, the “They Cloned Tyrone” star recently threw a party at the Chicago rehabilitation facility where he’s been recuperating. The source said Foxx held the party “to celebrate being better.”

The individual also noted that Foxx “has been working really hard these last couple of months to get back to normal and has greatly improved since he first got to the facility.” However, the 55-year-old is “still doing some outpatient rehab.”

The cause behind the actor's sudden trip to the emergency room last spring still remains a mystery. As many may remember, Foxx fell ill on April 11 while filming the Netflix movie “Back in Action” in Atlanta. His daughter Corinne Foxx initially made the announcement regarding her father’s health and has been updating fans via social media along the way.

Over the last month, the actor has become increasingly more visible in public. Just hours after being sighted on a boat cheerfully waving at passing fans, Foxx was spotted enjoying a leisurely evening with a few rounds of golf at nearby Topgolf.

The actor was also hailed a hero last week after he shot out of an SUV to return a woman’s lost purse. Terri “Quenni” Glenn told PEOPLE in an interview that she asked the star, “Are you feeling good?” To which he replied, “I’m feeling good.”
