This TV Network Confused Patti LaBelle With Loni Love And Twitter Is Over It
It appears that the "we don't all look alike" mantra hasn't sunk in for some people as it pertains to African-Americans, as the Food Network has just mistaken music legend Patti LaBelle for talk show host and comedian Loni Love.
The network recently made their ignorance known after posting a tweet of LaBelle in an effort to promote her stint on their show, Beat Bobby Flay, only to confuse her for the The Real co-host.
Quickly catching wind of the situation, Love responded to their tweet, informing them of who the woman in the photo they posted actually was, adding, "[she's] 75 lbs lighter then [sic] me but we do wear similar wigs."
To reiterate that they are two different people, Love also posted a photo of them together from when LaBelle visited her talk show, The Real.
The Food Network has since deleted their tweet, but that didn't stop Twitter users from going in on their careless mistake. See how they responded, below:
