Flo Rida Denies Jacking Diplo's Video Idea
Flo Rida and Diplo aren't friends, at least for the moment. The two were embroiled in a very public feud birthed on Twitter.
Diplo threw the first blow, claiming Flo stole his love for rotund backsides. The producer puts cheeks on display in his "Butter's Theme" video and was enraged to see similar butt worship in Flo's "Cant Believe It" visual. After calling him a "f--- boi," Diplo threatened to take it a step further. "I'm goin' to toilet paper the trees in front of Flo Rida's mansion," he tweeted. "If you want u can ride or die with me. Also bring eggs."
And he wasn't done. "I'll totally fight Flo Rida in a street fight and totally get my a-- whooped. But I'll fight anyway cuz I'll fight for what I believe in."
The self-proclaimed "random a-- white dude" eventually had a small change of heart tweeting that the "beef was kinda lame," and promised to "stay being creative" rather than worry about accusing copycats.
Meanwhile, Flo wasn't the least bit scared according to an interview with MTV's RapFix Live Wednesday (July 31). He laughed off the rift, finding a silver lining. "[The] only thing stands out in that is the fact that I thank God I can afford a mansion."
He's also never seen "Butter's Theme," he said, and was actually inspired by the celebrated booty-shaking videos of yesteryear. "Shout out to Sir Mix-A-Lot, 2 Live Crew who definitely inspired my video."
As for thoughts on Diplo, there were no verbal darts thrown in his direction. "I just wish him the best of luck on his career."
