Rubi Rose Speaks Out Against Butt Enhancements

After sharing a twerking clip, the rapper took a moment to caution followers about the risks of body-altering trends.

Rubi Rose is cautioning fans against cosmetic butt enhancements, becoming the latest public figure to speak out amid growing concerns over the popular procedure.

On Tuesday, (May 6), the rapper issued a direct PSA to fans after posting a video of herself dancing to one of her tracks. “Please stop getting as shots,” she wrote in a message to her social media account.

Though brief, Rubi’s warning adds her voice to a growing chorus of women in the music industry who are rethinking or pushing back against cosmetic procedures, especially those aimed at altering one’s backside.

Other artists have recently weighed in on the BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) conversation.

Earlier this year, GloRilla poked fun at rumors she’d undergone the procedure. “I’ve been seeing everybody with all the BBL allegations and I wanna come on here and be honest," Glo shared at the time.

“So, I didn’t get a BBL, but I did get some ‘discipline shots,’” she joked, “So, I got 'em inserted right here and right here [pointing to her temples].”

SZA, on the other hand, has openly admitted to getting a BBL, saying while it wasn’t “necessary,” she’s “enjoying it.”

Latto shared last year that she underwent the procedure when she was “young and impressionable,” hinting at the pressures women face in the spotlight.
