Ex-Wrestler Randy “Macho Man” Savage Killed in Car Crash

Randy “Macho Man” Savage died Friday morning in a car accident in Pinnellas County. The man known best for his raspy voice and erratic behavior was 58.

The world of professional wrestling has suffered yet another loss.

Randy “Macho Man” Savage died Friday morning in a car accident in Pinnellas County, Florida. The man known best for his raspy voice and erratic behavior was 58.

Savage, whose real name is Randy Mario Poffo, was in the car with his wife, Elizabeth Poffo. She suffered injuries but none that were life threatening.

There have been reports Savage suffered a heart attack while driving, which may have caused him veer off the road out of control. But those reports have not been confirmed.

Savage rose to fame with WWE in the mid-1980s to 1993, holding a couple major titles as teamed up with Hulk Hogan and later had a feud with the iconic wrestler. Savage had not performed for any of the major wrestling organizations since 2004.
