Earl Sweatshirt Releases 'Solace' Track for His Mom
Earl Sweatshirt gave the Internet a new offering today titled, “Solace.” The 10-minute track is described online by the rapper as, “music from when i hit the bottom and found something.”
He tweeted the music with the message, “find your solace in yourself” to his followers. For the music, the 21-year-old utilizes spoken-word style and a more standard flow by the song's end. At points the instrumental sways from mellow to temperamental.

“Solace” is the latest from Earl since his March 2015 release, I Don't Like S**t, I Don't Go Outside. He teased the song last month during an NPR interview, explaining what motivated the project. “I'm more or less just transitioning into being able to make some s**t that I could show my mom,” he said, detailing how the song was birthed. “We set up a studio at my house and I did a little project real, real fast.”
