Multiple Fatalities Reported in Mass Shooting at Florida Warehouse
A shooting at an Orlando business headquarters has resulted in multiple fatalities, including the shooter. According to WFTV, five people total are dead.
In this Florida mass shooting — that comes just a week before the anniversary of the Pulse night club shooting — police believe there is no connection to terrorism. The shooting was reported around 8 a.m. and the Orange County Sheriff's Office said the situation is "contained and stable."
Police believe this was a workplace-related incident, possibly carried out by a disgruntled employee, reported Holfeld News 6.
Officers and emergency units gathered in an industrial district of suburban Orlando, where the shooting took place.
According to CNN, the FBI has offered assistance to the sheriff's office. Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and Sheriff Jerry Demings were also present on the scene.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said the suspect was a 45-year-old armed with a handgun and a knife. According to Demings, the suspect shot and killed himself, reported ABC News.
Demings also said this suspect was involved in a different workplace altercation in 2014, wherein he battered an employee, yet no charges were filed.
