Will Smith Joins Wife Jada Pinkett Smith During Tour and Proclaims His Love For Her Amid Book Revelations
If you thought the startling revelations in Jada Pinkett Smith's memoir would stop Will Smith from standing by his wife's side, think again.
Days after The Matrix Resurrections star dropped bombshells on the intimate details of their relationship, the actor joined Pinkett Smith on Thursday (October 18) during her Worthy book tour in Baltimore, MD. Their kids, Jaden, 25, Willow, 22, and Trey, 30, were also in attendance. At the event, the Oscar winner spoke from the heart about why Jada will always be the love of his life, as reported by E! News.
As Smith faced the crowd, he said it was a no-brainer for him to come "and hold it down for you the way you have held it down for me," as per the Baltimore Sun.
“We got together when we were in our 20s,” The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star said. “I had huge dreams of what I wanted to do in the world and in my life, and I was on fire with a vision. And as I stand here before you today, I am happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life.”
Jada’s tell-all memoir illustrates a couple whose union has been complex. According to Will, it’s fared "very long and tumultuous" over the last 30 years. "We call it "brutiful,'' he explained. "It was brutal and beautiful at the same time."
While he addressed the crowd, Will also said their marriage has been a "sloppy public experiment in unconditional love," according to the Baltimore Banner.
Still, Will declares he is at his peak glory.
"I have achieved every single thing I have ever wanted in my entire life. There is not one thing left that I desire in this world—all of the awards, all of the money, the family—everything I've ever dreamed."
Additionally, Will made it clear that his success was "largely built on the foundation of Jada's sacrifices," while adding she developed a close friendship with his eldest son’s mom and his ex-wife Sheree Zampino “so that I could have all of my children with me.”
"Can you show up and love somebody for the rest of your life, even when you don't agree with them?" Will added. "Jada is the best friend I have ever had on this planet and I am going to show up for her and support her for the rest of my life."
In Worthy, Jada revealed she and Will had been living "completely separate lives" for the past seven years. During a recent interview with Hoda Kotb, she said they are both on a healing journey.
“We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.”
