Police Responded 11 Times To Teen Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s Home Ahead Of Tragic Death
Before her disappearance and tragic death, 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s home in Lake Elsinore, California, was the subject of repeated police visits, new reports show.
According to TMZ, Riverside County sheriff deputies were called to Rivas Hernandez’s house 11 times between February 2024 and April 2025. A majority of those 11 calls were logged as “minor crime investigation,” while at least 1 was listed as “suspicious circumstances.” Four of the calls resulted in official reports, and police followed up on at least 3 of the calls.
Records indicate that on March 19, 2024, alone, police responded to 3 separate calls (2 to her home and the other to a nearby liquor store). The day of the 3 calls was the same day she was seen in surveillance footage at the local liquor store on the same block as the family home. Celeste's sister went to the store after Celeste ran away to see if she was on the video and she was. There is a shot of Celeste running down the street and going out of frame. Then, a car pulls out, but it is unknown if she was in that car.
In April, police responded to Rivas Hernandez’s home about a half hour after her family reported her missing to police.
Damien Hernandez, also 15, who previously dated Rivas Hernandez, has spoken publicly about her difficult home environment. He described her as “really kind” and said she “wanted something serious.” He added, “She told me a lot about her home life. She said her parents were mean, she didn’t like them.” According to Damien, Rivas Hernandez often talked about running away and even joked about it in front of friends, but at the time, “no one took it seriously.”
On Sept. 8, Rivas Hernandez’s remains were found in a Tesla registered to rising singer-songwriter d4vd after reports of a foul odor led to the vehicle getting towed. Police said the teen had likely been dead for weeks.
“We know that the Tesla had been parked at the location from which it was towed for several weeks, so it is very likely Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been dead for several weeks prior to her body being discovered,” Los Angeles Police Department Robbery-Homicide Division commanding officer Scott M. Williams said in a statement.
Authorities have not determined a cause of death. d4vd has not been charged in connection to the case, and the investigation remains ongoing.
