Jennifer Hudson brought back a favorite guest from her talk show to surprise her childhood friend, Walter Williams.

On Friday, May 16, the EGOT winner posted a TikTok of British actor Aaron Pierre, surprising Walter, who was celebrating his birthday. Months before, Pierre took a legendary stroll down the ‘Happy Place’ hallway while promoting ‘Mufasa: The Lion King,’ so it was a must for him to return and extend Williams a “happy birthday greeting.” The TikTok showed the men embracing while a visibly shocked Williams asked how the ‘Rebel Ridge’ star got there. 

Recording the interaction was Hudson, while Pierre shared that he had ordered Williams dozen cupcakes.

“Surprise, friend !!! Here at Jhud Productions, we aim to please ! I think Walter is very pleased—along with speechless and very surprised!” Hudson captioned the post. “He clearly didn’t see that coming ! Thank u Aaron Pierre #Mufasa for making my friend’s birthday and life!”

Williams, a frequent guest on Hudson’s talk show, has received other surprises from the host before, like her and Patti LaBelle singing “You Are My Friend” to him in 2023.
