    Brandy's self-titled debut album, Brandy, was released in September of 1994, when she was just 15. The album sold over 6 million copies worldwide and peaked at No. 20 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

    "I Wanna Be Down" was the first single from Brandy and was certified platinum by the RIAA. The song was a top 10 hit on U.S. Billboard Hot 100. This song is still played today and is definitely a classic.

    In 1996, Brandy starred in her own show, Moesha. The TV show was one of the projects in Brandy's career for which she will always be remembered. It was and still is a favorite! Brandy's signature look was her braids on the show and she rocked them!

  5. Keeping Up With The Legends

    In 1996, while starring in her hit show Moesha, Brandy was also collaborating on music with some legends. "Missing You" is a single that was released from the soundtrack for the movie Set It Off. The single featured vocals from Brandy, Tamia, Gladys Knight and Chaka Khan. This collaboration helped her gain a nomination for a Grammy in the Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals category.

  6. We're Sitting Up In Our Rooms, Too

    The 1995 single "Sitting Up In My Room" was an instant hit! It was originally recorded for the soundtrack of the film Waiting to Exhale. The single went to No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 100 chart.

    "The Boy Is Mine" was every girl's anthem in the late '90s. The single, off of her second album, Never Say Never, featured fellow R&B singer Monica. The song climbed the U.S. Billboard 100 charts and garnered the top spot! The song also spent an astonishing 13 weeks at the top of the U.S. Billboard 100 chart. It also gained the duo the Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocal Grammy Award!

    In 1997, Brandy made history as the first African-American to play Cinderella! Whitney Houston produced the television version of Cinderella and hand selected Brandy for the role. The two-hour television special gained over 60 million viewers. If she wasn't before, she definitely was an inspiration for African-American girls after that!

  10. That One Song That Made You Miss A Boo That You Probably Never Even Had

    Brandy's second No. 1 single from her Never Say Never album, "Have You Ever," was released in 1998. The song is definitely one of our faves and is definitely a classic!

    In 2006, she gained a role as judge on a music TV show America's Got Talent. She was a featured judge for the show's first season.
