Waka Flocka Says Shooting Incident Turned Up His Buzz

After being shot during a robbery in Atlanta back in January, Waka Flocka's been receiving press coverage like never before.

As previously reported, the ATL rookie was sitting at a carwash when a gunman approached the driver side of his BMW demanding his jewelry. While Flocka cooperated, he managed to get close enough to try to snatch the gun resulting in him being shot twice.

Since then, Flocka has recounted his story on countless hip-hop websites and radio shows. While getting shot has added to the legend of superstars like 50 Cent and Tupac Shakur, it did little for Fabolous and Cam'Ron's careers. To let him tell it, the shooting has pushed Waka's popularity to the next level.

“I can agree and I can disagree because it wasn’t turning up, but it just opened more hills," Waka told BET.com. "It put gasoline behind it so, at the end of the day, yeah.”
