Soulja Boy and Chris Brown Have a Legendary R&B Singer to Perform the National Anthem at Their Fight

You may want to tune in after all.

No formal boxing match is quite official without the singing of the national anthem, and Hollywood’s R&B circle is always up for grabs.

While Chris Brown and Soulja Boy's anticipated boxing match isn't the most formal one-on-one match, six-time Grammy-nominated R&B chanteuse Kelly Price has been revealed as the woman for the job.

The men have 50 Cent, who is heavy on his bidding for Brown, to thank for booking the vocal talents of Ms. Price as well. The Queens rap magnate posted her photo to his Instagram, stamping an official seal of approval for the Soul of a Woman crooner’s national anthem performance at the fight.

“[Kelly Price] is set to sing the national anthem at the fight, Chris vs. Soulja,” he said. “#Thefightstillon.”

Reposting to her own Instagram, Price saluted 50 for his national anthem proposal as well.

“Looking forward to singing the national anthem on fight night with [Soulja Boy] and [Chris Brown],” she captioned the repost. “Thank you [50 Cent] for trusting me with this!”

In addition to Floyd Mayweather, Adrien Broner, 50 Cent and Mike Tyson, Price makes the fifth celebrity with a stake in the boxing match. Others, such as T.I. and Nick Cannon, however, haven’t shared their fondness of the whole boxing match idea between Brown and Soulja from the very beginning.

Either way, the fight is shaping up to be a star-spangled event for sure.
