Lil Wayne Can't Remember Tha Carter V Release Date

Weezy is shaky on details, but the album is definitely coming soon.

Lil Wayne doesn't know exactly when he'll release Tha Carter V, he just knows it will be out within the next two months. MTV News caught up with Weezy at the "Krazy" video shoot in Los Angeles Tuesday (July 1) and the YMCMB star admitted that he's "so not good" with remembering release dates.

"I think it drops either in September…and then we have…ah I can’t tell you the sneak thing," he said smiling. "Anyway, yeah, I think it drops in September, or August, I don't know."

After realizing that the date could conflict with the Lil Wayne vs. Drake tour, he said that the album "might drop before then, in July" and finally just asked someone off camera for the answer. Unfortunately no one had a solid date for Weezy so he settled on "August 25, or something like that?"

No release date doesn't mean Wayne is dragging the recording process along. The 31-year-old said that he's "finished" with the LP and confirmed a follow-up release, Da Other Album, tentatively slated for October, two months after Tha Carter V is expected to debut.
