Self Proclaimed 'SHE-EO' Of Thinx Period Panties Slammed With Multiple Sexual Harassment Allegations From Former Employees

Miki Agrawal has been accused of groping staffers and stripping down during the work day.

A popular contemporary underwear designed for women and trans men on their periods has recently received negative press after several reports were made against the company and its former CEO. For everyone in New York City, THINX became a well-known underwear company thanks in part to their risqué and innovative subway ads. Although the company appeared to be for women and by women, new allegations against self-proclaimed “SHE-EO” Miki Agrawal suggest otherwise.

Agrawal — who stepped down as CEO earlier this month — now faces a sexual harassment lawsuit put forth by former employees.

  • According to an extensive New York report, a complaint filed with the New York Commission of Human Rights alleged that Agrawal inappropriately touched employees. The complaint claimed Agrawal touched an employee’s breasts without their permission and would change clothes in front of employees in the very open workspace. Additionally, the complaint said Agrawal conducted video conferences and FaceTime meetings while in bed or on the toilet.

26-year-old Chelsea Leibow — who was fired as head of public relations in December — filed the complaint. Agrawal was said to have been “obsessed” with Leibow’s body and would often touch her breasts in front of other staff members.

To make matters worse, THINX did not operate with a proper HR department until recently. When several staff members felt disrespected by their boss, they had no outlet to report their complaint.

  • Another report published by Racked revealed the company had a terrible maternity leave and did not pay many of its employees a competitive rate

After stepping down, Agrawal posted a lengthy Medium post in which she denied any allegations of wrongdoing by the company. However, she does acknowledge the lack of human resources as a mistake.

“I didn’t put HR practices in place because I was on the road speaking, doing press, brand partnerships, editing all of the creative and shouting from the rooftops about THINX so we can keep going,” Agrawal wrote.

On March 23, Agrawal is set to speak at the New Orleans Entrepreneur Week’s Women’s Summit. Her speech will follow a discussion called “Navigating Sexuality at Work: Finding the Line Between Harmless and Harassment.”
