Unfortunate details have recently been revealed involving Mel B and her estranged husband, Stephen Belafonte.

According to TMZ, the former Spice Girls star is accusing her ex of physical abuse, which she says she endured throughout the course of their marriage.

The singer was granted a restraining order against Belafonte this week as she and her three children are reportedly in "fear for their lives."

The site reports that Mel B saw their marriage as a living nightmare that was constantly filled with physical violence, emotional distress and sexual blackmail.

She says the abuse allegedly began in 2007 when they first tied the knot. TMZ reports that Mel B recalled that Belafonte allegedly "placed both of his hands around her neck, began choking her and slammed her down onto the hardwood floors" on the night of her Dancing With the Stars finale.

The statement continued, "When she achieved any measure of success, he would 'beat me down to let me know he was in charge.'"

The abuse was reportedly not only physical — Belafonte would allegedly yell things like "die b***h" — but it was also sexual. He allegedly persuaded her into unwanted threesomes and sexual acts with "random women" by threatening to blackmail her by releasing their private sex tapes to the public.

Belafonte denied all of TMZ's claims, labeling them "untrue."

The former couple is currently in the middle of a nasty divorce.
