The-Dream, who has penned some of pop music's biggest hits, was charged in April 2012 with choking and roughing up his then-pregnant girlfriend, Lydia Nam. She made a report to the authorities, telling them that the famed producer threatened to kill her "like O.J. Simpson killed Nicole Brown" during the altercation.

According to the New York Daily News, during a brief appearance in Manhattan Criminal Court, however, Nash was cleared of all charges, including felony assault and strangulation.

"After a thorough investigation, we have determined that we cannot prove this case beyond a reasonable doubt," prosecutor Jacqueline Cornell said.

Following the news, the "Falsetto" singer left the courthouse relieved, saying that he felt "joy" after the result was announced and even did a short dance beside the elevators. "God has a way," he said as he left. "I'm relieved."

The-Dream and his new wife, Lalonne Martinez, walked hand-in-hand as they left the courthouse.
