Rick Ross In Hot Water For 'Teflon Don' Album Title, Gotti Family Not Happy

Carmine Agnello is a fan of only one "Teflon Don": his grandfather John Gotti.

The 24-year-old New York native isn't pleased with Rick Ross using the infamous nickname for his fourth solo album, which was released yesterday via Def Jam Records.

Agnello told the Daily News, "My grandfather paid his dues for that nickname. That was my grandfather's life.

The grandson of the famous mobster would have preferred if the Miami boss had approached the family before proceeding with the title. And though Agnello praises Ross' lyrical abilities, he isn't sold on the rapper's image.

I think he's a great artist, but you can't just start calling yourself that to sell records," Gotti explained. "He wants to go for that whole image, but hey, be yourself.

Agnello is also pursuing a career in music under the moniker Carmine Gotti. John Gotti received the nickname after winning acquittal in court cases in the 1980s. The mobster was then convicted of murder and racketeering in 1992.

Rick Ross' reps have yet to comment on the matter. Click here to see rappers, including Rick Ross, who have taken their stage names from real people.
