R-E-S-P-E-C-T: Aretha Franklin's 4-Day Memorial Service Includes Multiple Outfit Changes
The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, will be laid to rest in style.
The funeral home in charge of the homegoing service for the late Aretha Franklin has announced that she will have multiple outfits in true diva fashion. Executive vice president of Swanson Funeral Home, Linda Swanson, said the Franklin family authorized her to reveal that the music icon's wardrobe will be changed days leading up to her burial on Friday, in Detroit's Woodlawn Cemetery.
Swanson did not disclose details on the exact number of outfit changes the Queen of Soul will have, but she hinted that it will be a "surprise" and it will be "natural changes in wardrobe that a queen would make," according to the Detroit Free Press.
The Music icon’s body arrived in a custom $40k, 24k gold-plated casket at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit on Tuesday morning for the start of her two-day public viewing.
We're glad the Queen is being honored in such a beautiful way.
