Gucci Mane Allegedly Robbed, Kidnapped at Gunpoint by Pooh Shiesty and Big30, DOJ Says

Federal prosecutors say nine people, including the Memphis rappers, kidnapped and robbed Gucci Mane at a Dallas studio in January. Eight have been arrested.

Rapper Gucci Mane was allegedly robbed and kidnapped at a Dallas music studio by a group of nine people that included fellow rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

The DOJ announced Thursday that the nine suspects kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint multiple victims at a music studio in Dallas. Eight of the nine were arrested Wednesday in Dallas, Memphis, and Nashville.

According to the DOJ, on Jan. 10, Pooh Shiesty (real name Lontrell Denell Williams Jr.) traveled to Dallas for a meeting with two music industry professionals, reportedly to discuss the terms of his recording contract with one of the victims. Gucci Mane, born Radric Delantic Davis, was among those present.

Shiesty allegedly intended to get out of his recording contract with Gucci Mane by robbing him. Shiesty and Big30 are accused of robbing Gucci Mane at gunpoint and stealing his wedding ring.

The DOJ says one victim was choked to the point of near unconsciousness. Big30 is accused of barricading a door to prevent the victims from leaving. Suspects later posted photos on social media wearing items believed to have been stolen during the robbery, according to prosecutors.

The other suspects arrested include Kedarius Waters, Terrance Rodgers, Damarian Gipson, Demarcus Glover, Kordae Johnson, and Darrion McDaniel. Shiesty's father, Lontrell Williams Sr., was also arrested during a raid at the family's Cordova, Tennessee home and is accused of helping plan and carry out the incident.

Pooh Shiesty was released from federal prison six months ago after serving three years of a five-year sentence for a 2020 shooting in Florida. Shiesty was an independent rapper before signing with Gucci Mane's 1017 Records in April 2020.
