Kimora Lee Simmons Shares Update Following Weekend House Fire

The fashion designer and model thanked the Los Angeles Fire Department, which “quite possibly saved our lives.”

Fashion designer and model Kimora Lee Simmons says she and her family are all safe and well after her Los Angeles home caught fire over the weekend. 

Last Saturday, the 55-year-old industry veteran took to her Instagram Stories to share images of the harrowing incident while also extending gratitude to the Los Angeles Fire Department for their prompt assistance in rescuing her family.

“My house caught fire. The kids and I are all fine,” Simmons wrote in an update, per People.

Photographs snapped at the Baby Phat founder’s home show fire department personnel clearing the fireplace of smoke and debris. “I cannot express enough my deepest gratitude to the numerous battalions, ladders, and units that attended to us for many hours today and quite possibly saved our lives. THANK YOU!” Simmons wrote.

The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed. 

The entrepreneur is mother to Ming, 23, and Aoki, whom she shares with ex-husband Russell Simmons. She is also mom to 14-year-old Kenzo from her former relationship with actor Djimon Hounsou. Her youngest biological son, Wolfe, 8, is from her current estranged husband and disgraced businessman, Tim Leissner.

In 2020, Simmons expanded her family by welcoming her adopted son, 10-year-old Gary.
