#NeverForget: Reflecting on a Year Since Stacey Dash Lost Her Black Card

It has been a clueless 12 months.

It's safe to say that most of the Black community has disowned Stacey Dash after her anti-Black-everything philosophy she made public last year.

Since then, she's had quite the eventful life and career, with the latest news being her getting the boot from her home at FOX News.

However, there was much more that came before that moment. Let's take a walk down memory lane to see just where Stacey Dash's problematic rhetoric began.

What a year it has been for Stacey Dash!

  1. It all began with her anti-BET Awards and Black History Month Comments

The actress's membership was canceled in 2016 when she said in an interview that there was no longer a need for either the BET Awards or Black History Month. Following her remarks, it was only downhill from there as — former — fans and peers of the star began to turn their backs on her.

  2. The moment she was exposed by her ex after her Black History Month comments

Following her scathing anti-Black comments, her ex, Ryan Prophet, took to social media to air some of her dirty laundry out and things got messy. He revealed everything from skin bleaching allegations to her having an abortion. After she asked him to take back what he said, he posted a screen shot of their text exchange, letting her know, before the world, that nothing was being removed until she apologized.

  3. Gabrielle Union slapping her with her version of 'I don't know her'

Gabrielle Union is as pro-Black as it gets, so when asked about Stacey Dash's comments, her response was not only expected, but it was hilariously in tune with most of the community. When the Being Mary Jane star was asked at the Sundance Film Festival about the "clueless" actress's comments in 2016, she simply responded, "Who's Stacey Dash? Is she like related to Dame Dash? Was she on Roc-A-Fella?"

  4. Vivica Fox reading her for filth

As Dash's star was beginning to dim, folks began digging up some of her older comments, revealing that her beliefs are actually more long-lasting than many believed. The Grio resurfaced a clip of an interview they did with Vivica A. Fox where they asked for her opinion on Dash's endorsement of Mitt Romney, where the "clueless" actress posed in a red bathing suit to show her "political support." "I don't know why she had to do a photo shoot in a Baywatch red swimsuit with the boobs and the whole flag behind her," Vivica said. "And she doesn't have a job or something to promote right now. I just didn't get it."

  5. Embarrassingly showing up – and speaking – at the Oscars

...and being read by Demi Lovato for even showing up:

  6. It was arguably one of the most awkward moments in Oscars history. Stacey Dash, during the 2016 ceremony, walked onto the stage shortly after host Chris Rock's opening #OscarsSoWhite montage to the title of "director of our new minority outreach program." "I cannot wait to help my people out. Happy Black History Month!" she said, while A-listers looked on in confusion and pity.

  7. The moment she said transgender individuals should 'pee in bushes'

For many who hadn't written her off yet, this was the straw that broke the camel's back. In June, 2016, the actress shared her opinion with Entertainment Tonight about the controversial bathroom laws involving the trangender community. Her solution: pee in the bushes. "OK, then go in the bushes. I don't know what to tell you, but I'm not gonna put my child's life at risk because you want to change a law," she said.

  8. Releasing a book...

Is there a market out there where people want to know more about Stacey Dash's life? The actress definitely thinks so as she published a memoir in 2016 titled There Goes My Social Life: From Clueless to Conservative. Needless to say, the Black community was not moved by this — at all.

  9. Calling actor and activist Jesse Williams a 'plantation slave' for his BET Awards Speech

Following Jesse Williams's rousing acceptance speech after being honored with the 2016 BET Humanitarian Award at the BET Awards, Dash gave her two cents on his pro-Black message. "You've just seen the perfect example of a HOLLYWOOD plantation slave! Sorry, Mr. Williams," she wrote on her blog. "But the fact that you were standing on that stage at THOSE awards tells people you really don't know what your [sic] talking about."

  10. The time she came for Beyoncé's mother and the BeyHive handled it accordingly

  11. Social media dragged her to hell for stepping to the Queen's mother.

  12. Everyone knows that if you do anything in life, you never come for Beyoncé or her family — especially her mother, Tina Lawson. After Mama Tina posted a photo on Halloween 2016 of Kelly Rowland rocking a costume as Dash's character in Clueless — throwing a bit of shade, in the process — the actress felt the need to get a bit nasty to the Queen's mother. What she didn't know was that the BeyHive is armed and ready at all times, and they wasted no time in dragging her to hell for her disrespectful words.

  13. Her excitement for a president Trump, prior to his victory

While now President Donald Trump was still in the campaign stages and spewing hate against African-Americans and other minorities in his speeches, Stacey Dash was publicly showing her support for him. In fact, she took to social media to do just that. Though this didn't serve as a shocker to many, it proved that nothing had changed with the actress.

  14. Getting the axe by FOX News

The latest news involving Dash is not the most positive — for her. In January 2017, it was revealed that she was fired from Fox News, with the Hollywood Reporter revealing that the network confirmed they declined to renew her contract. She has had an odd relationship with Fox News over the years, with the most memorable moment being in 2015 where she was temporarily suspended after going on an on-air rant saying President Barack Obama didn't "give a s**t" about terrorism.
