9 Times Keke Palmer Gave Us Life With Her Clapbacks

Wendy Williams, Trey Songz and more got a taste of Keke's reads.

Published February 14, 2017

Keke Palmer is a grown woman now and she's not afraid to unapologetically say how she feels.

The actress/singer has now stepped into womanhood as the self-proclaimed "gag queen," made famous by the phrase she often uses, "...but the gag is..." She's since become equally famous for her clapbacks to some of her peers and critics in the industry ranging all the way from Trey Songz to Wendy Williams.

Take a look at some of Keke's most gag-worthy clapbacks below:

  1. To those who say she's changed

When the gag is, you're an inevitable force. #masterclass 👑

  3. To Trey Songz

This is preposterous. How am I in this video Trey? After you found me in a closet HIDING because I was so afraid of anymore conflict. Literally my last option was to hide because you all would not listen when I said I did not want to be in the video the FIRST time. Just cause you give someone food and alcohol and throw in a little sexual intimidation doesn't mean they will buckle. Yet, you still disrespected me as a young women, whom you've known since she was TWELVE. YOU STILL, defied my wishes and in turn showed your lack of respect for a brand that took me fourteen years to build and put me in the video against my wishes. Come on bruh, I clearly said no and you said okay, yet I was being secretly filmed when you told me "let me just show you the idea"?? Wow. This is what I'm referring to in my previous post, this is the sexism and misogyny I refer to because if I was a dude, he wouldn't have even tried me like this. Let this be a lesson to all, I'm not for the bullshit. I'm serious about my business and you will not use my likeness without MY permission. When you in front of a boss you treat them like one, like I treat YOU. NO MEANS NO!!!!!!! People have to listen to women and stop questioning them and their intelligence. Speak up, cause when you look someone in the face and they say "I understand. You don't have to feel pressured to do the video" and they STILL put you in it, it is a violation. It would be great to be able to handle these things privately but why when they aren't respected?

I hate that everyone feels like this is a big deal. I didn't even want to make a post for it but I keep seeing people saying "Leave Keke alone" or "Why are you being mean to Keke" lol. I don't want any of my supporters to get the wrong idea about who I am. Keke is fine because Keke knows who she is. Keke doesn't care to conform to what people think she should be. #IDontBelongToYou- And Keke knows that love is the only real thing out there, everything else is delusion. When I see people being mean, I know it's them and not me. I focus on who loves me, not who hates me duh that's why I'm so happy all the time, I choose it. Hahahahaha! I know I'm different, I been different all my life I have never been a follower. The truth is, anytime you're being you and not following the status "quo", you will be ridiculed. I say this to me and anyone watching the nasty things that are being said to me. From the acne scars on my skin, to the unwanted nude color on my toes hahaha. I can only be me and if it's not enough for anyone else that's alright with me! I can take any of the sticks and the stones thrown at me because I know the freedom of one loving thyself. I know the freedom of loving who you are every minute of the day and that's what it's about! It's about YOU being into you, never about THEM 😍. So don't feel bad for me, I'm not a fucking victim or a hero. I'm just a regular girl with a cool job. But I'm just a girl nonetheless, now let's stop acting like everything celebrities do is profound lol. Cause real talk, y'all know me taking off my makeup is not news. #StopBeingDramatic #JustBeingHonest 😳😂❤️💋👑
